Owners of Knutsford's renowned Belle Epoque Brasserie for the past 30 years, the family's plans for The Duke of Portland have included a substantial refurbishment for its launch as a full dining pub and the introduction of a menu featuring freshly cooked food. 'The Duke' also offers an excellent range of cask ales and an extensive wine list. Duke’s Wine Evenings Every now & then the Duke stumbles across some fabulous wines in the deep dark recesses of his cellars. They have been brought to Lach Dennis from the corners of the wine growing areas, mostly small, independent makers, but all firm in the believe that great grapes, knowledge & skill produce great things, rather like our philosophy here at the Duke. So, throughout the year we provide some gorgeous relevant food, someone to chat about the wines & an opportunity to buy the wines at great prices, please book your table early as these events always sell quickly
Dates JULY 14th Bastille Day with French Old & New £27.50 per person including wine with each course SEPT 10th Back to School with the New World £30.00 per person including wine with each course NOV 12th Fizz & Frolics for Christmas £35.00 per person including wine with each course AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY Duke’s Legendary Hog & Ale FIesta. Gorgeous Berkshire Black Pig, from our chum Alison Nicholson up in Sedbergh, slow roasted for 12 hours, whilst basted with Honey, Bay & Spices – Served as a Full Roast Dinner, in a Traditional English Muffin of just chomp on a hunk – apples sauce made with wonderful Kelsall Apples, Duke's stuffing. A selection of Fabulous Ales & Ciders will be on all over this weekend, chosen from the 4 corners of Britain ( at least 5 at any one time)
